Corporate Mailroom Services: MegaMail - We Frank

The revised format by which Jamaica Post now offers its business mail service is the ‘Corporate Mailroom’. It is specifically targeted to volume-oriented business mail and functions within two categories of mail items:

  • ‘MegaMail’
  • ‘We Frank’

‘MegaMail’ is used for 1,500 items and over, while ‘We Frank’ is for 50 items and over. This new facility provides companies with an opportunity to outsource their mailroom operations and reduce operating costs. Prior to this, the only arrangement for high-volume business mailing was ‘Bulk Mail’, which accepted a minimum of 30,000 mail items. Based on customer research, the postal service management decided to revise the product offering to better meet client needs by offering a new arrangement for smaller volumes of business mail.

The corporate mailroom service provides customers with the ease of distributing mail items of the same size and weight at the same time without having to purchase stamps for each item. The customer benefits from time savings and the reduced risk of not having to use cash, as the process is facilitated by a manager’s cheque payable to the Postmaster General, given that the total postage cost is easily obtained by phone (once the common weight of items is established).

Given that the latest technological advances such as the cellular phone have resulted in reduced personal mail, mail volume is currently primarily driven by business entities. Jamaica Post is therefore constantly responding to the challenges posed by new technologies by re-arranging its product offerings and operational framework.
