Sports Club ‘Summer Rally’ Finals on Friday
After many weeks of competition in a number of sporting pursuits, it’s time to declare the winners of the Post and Telecommunications Department’s Sports Club’s (PTSC) ‘Summer Rally’. The awards ceremony is scheduled for this Friday August 24, at the Central Sorting Office (CSO), with the finals of the football competition preceding the awards function.

The event gets underway at 5pm with a football ‘display’ match using players from all other teams except the finalists, then on to the football final at 6pm. The awards ceremony follows immediately thereafter, and this will feature a host of activities.

Ambassador Stewart Stephenson, President of the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) is expected to comment on the officials’ feedback regarding issues such as discipline and sportsmanship in his address, given his stance at the ‘summer rally’s’ launch. At that time, he stated that he anticipated compliance with the referees’ or other officials’ decisions.

Included in the entertainment package are performances by: 2006 JCDC Popular song 2nd place finisher, ‘Purpose’, whose real name is Ian Chang; a fashion show by the Intern Modeling Agency, who will parade in designs from the ‘Jah Style’ clothing line, and dub poetry by the group ‘No Man’, lead by Everaldo Creary. With the MC being 2006 ‘Comedy Buss’ winner Rohan Gunter, it promises to be a ‘can’t miss diss’ event with laughter and ‘good vibes’. Postal staff, members of communities in close proximity to the postal service headquarters, and the public are all invited to share the excitement.

PTSC extends a special ‘thank you’ to sponsors: Red Stripe, Guiness; Cari-Med (for the Eclipse sugar-free gum), and Big-Jo (for the Tampico drinks).
