Private letter box network expands

August 22, 2005 The Gleaner Pg. 7B

The Postal Corporation has moved to ease the woes of many citizens residing in areas not currently served by a street delivery system, particularly in the countryside, by expanding its private letter box (PLB) network.

PLBs go a far way towards providing a solution for customers who do not receive door-to-door delivery. The

private letter box strategy undertaken by the Postal Corporation provides PLBs at locations, such as housing schemes and plazas. The convenience of having a PLB right at home (or in close proximity) has attracted significant customer interest.

The project was first implemented at the Long Mountain housing scheme in St. Andrew. Post Corp has now announced that PLBs are available (at last) at the following locations: Angels (plaza), Bethel Town , Boscobel, Discovery Bay , Gordon Town , Exchange, Liguanea, Little London, Lucea, Mandeville, McCooks Pen, Mount Royal Estate, Old Harbour , Red Hills, Shooter's Hill, St Ann 's Bay and Whitehouse.

For more information on PLBs and how to get them installed at a location close to you, call the Postal Corporation toll free at 1-888-JAMPOST (1-888-526-7678), or email: postcorp_admin@colis.com.
